Big Trees Forest Preserve, Sandy Springs, GA – Beacon Dance

We are dancing seeking unity. The political discourse of our country, and particularly within the state of Georgia, has become extremely polarized, and the streams of communication have become disrupted. Recognizing the metaphorical connection between the fluids system of the body as researched by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in her body of work Body-Mind Centering, we are seeking to transform this stagnation back into a healthy flow. “Within the body we find expressions of all the forms in which water circulates on, in and around the earth. In us there is the great unbounded ocean of fluid in which all the cells are bathed. There are rivers and streams flowing within the vessels of the veins, arteries, lymphatic and cerebrospinal fluid channels, there are pools and reservoirs and places where the fluid gushes or trickles like springs, waterfalls or rain.” –Linda Hartly, Wisdom of the Body Moving.
