About the Performance

Julie Brannen (SheWolf Sacred) presents a site-specific performance at Montrose Beach in Chicago, IL. The work honors the sacred waters of Lake Michigan and raises awareness about the harm of microplastics to nearby wildlife and ecosystems. The ensemble moves as a flock of bodies, echoing the Plover birds that are endangered in this area.

Purpose

The work seeks to bring public attention to the impact of microplastics on local ecosystems and to honor the sacred status of Lake Michigan. Through collective movement and site-responsive choreography, the performance invites reflection on human relationships to water and habitat.
